I am a Vancouver-based queer Registered Social worker living on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish people. I have a Bachelor and Masters degree in social work from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and I am currently a PhD student in social work at McGill University, exploring end of life care. I have almost a decade of experience providing mental health and substance use counselling and I lived and have worked in Vernon, Nelson and Vancouver. At this time, I provide only virtual counselling.
My approach draws on a variety of therapies but I believe the most important aspect is about developing relationship. Counselling is a deeply personal journey which requires judgement free connection and support. Together we will build a therapeutic relationship and a personalized plan for change. I provide individual counselling using cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy.
